I am sure you are aware of the devastation that brought Haiti to its knees on January 12, 2010. A massive earthquake demolished nearly 40% of the city structures and wreaked havoc on the lives of millions. Thousands of people from around the world rushed to Haiti to help in any way possible. International Aid Serving Kids (IASK) sponsored two trips to Haiti after the earthquake and set up clinics to help children, mothers, and many other Haitians who were unable to travel to the make-shift hospitals throughout Port-au-Prince. Here is what a volunteer had to say about his experience…
“My experience in Haiti was with wonderful people who have been through more heartache, pain, and loss than anyone should have to endure in a lifetime…Haiti will need an enormous amount of help for years to begin to resume any kind of return to normalcy. I hope that as time goes on the world doesn’t lose interest in a people that needs and deserves our love and support. It was a privilege and honor to work with the Haitian people and I hope in the future to have other such opportunities.”
